- Provides up to four meals a day
- Battery operated
- Keeps food fresh until mealtime
This battery operated pet feeder is a compact and simple solution for owners of cats and small dogs.
It consists of a six compartment tray and a motorized lid which rotates to reveal a new compartment according to the schedule you set on the timer. The interval between meals can be set 6 hours, 12 hours or 24 hours apart.
Although Lentek calls it a 6-day feeder, each meal-sized compartment will only hold up to 2/3 cups. So unless you have a very small pet, it’s not likely to serve for more than 36 hours. It’s perfect for weekends away, if you work late or don’t want to get up early to serve breakfast.
Unlike some feeders this model can be used to serve up wet food, as well as dry. It even has inserts which can be frozen to keep the food fresh, although this feature would only be useful for about a day.
While it’s simple design is nice, it also lacks some of the more elaborate features offered by other manufacturers, such as a digital display and adjustable portions. The timer starts when you first turn it on, and resets when the power is disconnected.
This machine is also less tamper-proof than some other models, so if you have a large cat that really likes to eat, they may pry the lid off. A medium size dog may overturn the tray. The motor does have a safety feature that prevents it from advancing if a paw or nose blocks its progress.
The unit is powered by a 9 volt battery, sold separately, which will keep it running for about 12 weeks.
